- Like I mentioned in chapter on character creation basics, some classes have prewritten lore with things you might not love - like elves being assholes. You can build the story side of your character however you want! Are the firbolgs from your clan actually incredibly violent? Cool, you can do that! All of the non-stat related stuff here is just for ideas and can be tinkered with as much as you want! Don’t see an option that you were excited about playing? I just selected the most flavorful options for this specific campaign, but there’s a more complete list of different heritage/lineage/race options over here! Let me know if you were hoping for something different and we can talk about how it might work/not work in this campaign!
- Also remember if you pick an uncommon/monstrous race some townspeople might be friendly to you and others may not! If you’re exploring The Depths you may be seen as more like kindred folk while common mortals may not!
- You can ignore anything assigning racial bonuses to specific ability scores (ie +2 to WIS, +1 to INT). We’ll be playing with Tasha’s variant rules so you can do either +2 and +1 to any two different ability scores of your choice or +1 to three different abilities.
